Self-Service Data Exploration and Nested-Data Analytics on Hadoop bySteve Wooledge, VP Product Marketing, MapR
Apache Drill is focused on letting people "surf data" as easily as they surf the Web, without the upfront data modeling required in traditional relational systems. SQL-on-Hadoop technologies are evolving at a rapid pace. Apache Drill is an open source distributed SQL query engine that is set to redefine how one approaches SQL for big data.
This session provides an in-depth introduction to how Apache Drill provides ANSI SQL capabilities on data that has just arrived on Hadoop without having to create a centralized schema. While dramatically improving the time-to-value of your data, Drill also is built with a JSON-like data model that provides interactive query speeds on common data formats used by modern web applications. The speaker will provide an overview of these topics along with examples.
How Big Data Drives Smart Decisions by Manny Puentes, CTO, Altitude Digital
New Big Data technologies and open-source community contributions have made it easier for businesses to analyze more data with less money. Innovative and adaptive technology solutions are also helping businesses overcome the hurdles of making billions of data points not just accessible, but meaningful.
By implementing Hadoop and other Big Data technologies, businesses can now store, scale, and pull the data that can truly push companies forward. We'll talk about why it makes sense for businesses to use this data architecture, how it can help inform insightful and cost-saving business decisions (including product roadmaps and new feature ideas), and how the technology is being used in video advertising.
