I saw it yesterday and would have loved to be able to talk about it with the group. Too bad I had other plans Sat.

My take on Jeb: He always knew he was more sensitive than others, wanting to see the beauty of big love and life itself. However his intellect chose the frivolous party life where being witty and cynical kept him away from tragedy and grief, but also from ecstasy and even true contentment. At the end the Saint's comment on roots being very important, the fat birds resting on Rome's high life cupola's and his magician friend's comment that all life is a trick or illusion anyway percolate. He concludes: I want to see big beauty, big love, it is my view of life which is a good as anyone else's and I will write about it, in the way that I felt life when I was 18 and dazzled by a beautiful woman.

That is an interesting review. Though personally I saw the message as the very opposite and more realistic instead of glorifying the woman as the end of all means as the fairy tale endings we've seen in the last 30 years in almost all the Hollywood movies. Maybe if she had put herself out on the limb maybe they would have actually ended together. The truth it takes more than just looking pretty like the main character stated. It takes a loving giving interesting courageous personality, the one we are born with. This is off course just an interpretation of an hypothetical setting.

I'm a fan of Fellini films and this movie would make him proud. Bummer I couldn't join you for the party...

Sorrentino rules! I still have questions swirling in my head about the movie. Enjoyed the roof-top after-party - thank you to Miami Beach Cinematheque & Dream!

Excellent picture and a superb after-party at a magnificent South Beach rooftop setting.

Outstanding cinematography, directing... outstanding film from its intentionally shallow, superficial beginning to its deeper depths. Thought-provoking needless to say, and it is not only a trip to Rome but to life as well; Fellini is ubiquitous throughout, however, Sorrentino's voice is loud and clear.

Im new to the area and dont know all the parking places..can someone tell me the place to park for this event and approx the rate? Deciding on bus vs car

    November 27, 2013

    • G

Parking and contact info is always emailed the night before the event. As for the rate it all comes down to how long you stay in the area; if you live nearby I'd suggest you take the bus.

I read this film is Italy's submission for the 2014 foreign film Oscars and has ravishing footage of Rome.
