This lecture will include a digital slide show. I will talk about how to photograph the night sky, with beautiful landscape features from National Parks within Utah and Wyoming. The lecture will be similar to the I did on January 9th (https://www.meetup.com/NightScape-Photography/events/97733202/) at Pixels Foto & Frame, where over 100 people came (the largest crowd ever to attend).

NOTE: This lecture is hosted by Cache Valley Photographers (https://www.meetup.com/CVPhotographers/) (CVP), Cache Valley SMUG. They will be charging $7.00 per person at the door (on a first come basis). They have allowed me to place 10 attendee spots on my meetup. I will be donating all proceeds to them. Your RSVP here will guarantee your spot at the lecture. You can also signup and prepay at their new Fisheye-connect website.

I will explain how to capture stars and the Milhttp://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/5/c/6/e/event_192863662.jpegky Way, including the landscape, in one exposure. You'll learn how to make adjustments for man-made light pollution and moonlight, and how to use both to your advantage.

Star Filled Night Photography" or "NightScapes" are single exposures of the starry night sky that include a recognizable landscape feature. These can be captured by anyone with a DSLR. I will discuss the basic equipment requirements and the natural conditions needed to capture "NightScapes", as well as how to overcome some of the challenges in this type of night photography. Light painting and how to use natural light to enhance landscape features will also be demonstrated.
