Details
Africa College Lecture:
Dr Simon M Holland will talk about ICT developments he’s seen and led in the Indian market over the last 9 years. During that time he has worked with major consulting firms, the UN FAO and been appointed as a co-opted member of the planning commission of the government of India for IT in Agriculture.
He has worked on numerous projects cutting across small-holder farmers, NGOs, agribusinesses, banks and multiple tiers of government in this time to develop solutions which cut right across the value chain.
He formed Barefoot Lightning with a diverse group of individuals from Media, IT, Innovation Consulting and Agriculture to help ensure that the benefits of the information age could reach small scale farmers.
After covering his experience of the Indian market and existing and future products in the development pipeline for Barefoot Lightning he will look to highlight areas for possible future collaborations between the Africa College, University of Leeds and Barefoot Lightning.
