First borrel of 2014

Almost a year ago we held our first successful meetup in the north of Holland. First borrel of this year will be again at Friesland, at the same location of last year.

This borrel will be hosted by Taal&Digitaal at their office in Buitenpost. The speaker this time will be Cees-Jan Kiewiet. Cees-Jan's talk will be about Testing in CakePHP. He will walk us through the basics of testing your CakePHP code using PHPUnit and why it is so important to write tests for your code.

Schedule

19:00: Welcome Drinks
19:[masked]: Talk: Unit testing CakePHP Applications & Plugins by Cees-Jan Kiewiet

After the talk there will be food, social & drinks.

Speaker: Cees-Jan Kiewiet

Cees-Jan Kiewiet started developing almost 15 years ago. He started with CakePHP 1.2. In his spare time, he develops code for various open source projects. The most popular CakePHP plugins Cees-Jan wrote are TwigView and Ratchet.  People at IRC, Twitter and Github know him as WyriHaximus.

Talk: Unit testing CakePHP Applications & Plugins

These days testing your code becomes more important all the time. With CakePHP 2.x and 3.x having PHPUnit integration built-in, writing tests for your application became a lot easier then in previous versions of CakePHP. In my talk I will try to show you why testing is important. Besides that I will show you how to write tests for your controllers, models, helpers, custom classes and mocking classes.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
