It took some persistent coercion and creative arm twisting, but we are pleased to announce another CAMUG Special Event, wherein Jean-Paul (JP) Boodhoo (http://www.developwithpassion.com) will lead a four hour mini-bootcamp where "you will be kickstarted with an introduction to the Ruby language. Core language constructs will be introduced in the context of test driving out a simple problem set that will serve as the backdrop for learning the basics." This is a typical JP understatement, as listen to what fellow CAMUG members, and software rock stars in their own right, have to say about JP:

"JP Boodhoo consistently inspires developers to stretch their limits, try the seemingly impossible, and succeed." -- James Kovacs (http://jameskovacs.com), Technical Evangelist, JetBrains (http://www.jetbrains.com)

"JP Boodhoo is passionate, dedicated, creative and one of the most fun software artists I have every met." -- Mo Khan (http://mokhan.ca), Software Developer, ARC Resources

The bad news is that we have to time box the session to just four hours. The good news is that you won't have to explain to your family where you have been for 20 hours, as is sometimes the case with JP's legendary, marathon bootcamp coding sessions.

About Jean-Paul Boodhoo

http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/4/9/d/6/event_169878902.jpegJP modestly says; "I am an independent consultant that spends most of my work day cutting code, and helping teams realize success through the adoption and application of pragmatic development practices. As a generalist developer, I focus on core competencies and approaches that transcend languages/platforms so that I can be effective in any organization/technology domain. One of my dreams has been to use the gifts that God has given me to teach, bless and encourage others. I like to challenge people to dream big with their lives and remind them that setting goals and having fun is something they can accomplish every day. When not programming I can be found relaxing with my amazing wife and our four beautiful kids." JP is founder and principal consultant for Develop with Passion (http://www.developwithpassion.com), and is a product of Medicine Hat, Alberta (http://www.tourismmedicinehat.com). He currently calls Cypress County, Alberta (http://www.cypress.ab.ca) home.
