TREKS AND TRAVELS | A Journey through Pakistan

Details

Come for an evening of discovery and discussion in an informal and intimate setting! CALL members are an adventurous group and are interested in hearing about active and interesting global pursuits. Each month we will have an interactive presentation from a different presenter.

We are looking for more CALL adventurers--CALL members and others-- to come forward to stimulate and inspire us with accounts of their treks and travels.

A Journey through Pakistan

Richard King will share stories and pictures of his recent travels to Pakistan. This six week journey included treks into the base camps of several Himalayan giants including K2 the world's second highest mountain, hikes in the Shangri La like landscapes of Hunza, a visit to the city of Islamabad and cultural encounters with the people in various parts of this safe, friendly, fascinating country.

Richard is a new member of CALL. He is a native born Calgarian and taught school with the Calgary Board of Education for thirty-two years. He is married with two daughters and three grand-children all living in Calgary. Since his retirement as Principal of Rosedale School in 1996, Richard has indulged his passion for adventure travel to various third world countries.

Free for members, $5 charge at the door for non-members. Guests are welcome. No registration required.
