D4 Taylor Lake and Panorama Meadows.

Taylor Lake and Panorama Meadows (with option to Panorama Ridge base).


Elevation gain: ~700m (100 more meters to panorama ridge base)

Distance: 13 Km

Time on trail: 6 to 7 hours  plus driving time (Aprox. 4 h)

As for Taylor Lake trail, drive the TransCanada highway west to Castle junction 150km from Calgary. The trailhead parking is 8km west of this junction on the left side of the road. If traffic is too busy, it is safer to drive to lake Louise and get back east a few kilometers to the trailhead.

Trip Waiver and Conditions: You must sign a trip waiver to attend this event  If you are not a “paid” member yet. Please read the Rules of Conduct if you have not already.

Note: I will bring waivers on Sunday to fill up before we leave.

Cost: Members free. Yearly membership fee  $20 or $5 for the day. Gas contributions for drivers are expected by all the participants and it will be confirmed and agreed with your carpool driver.

Note 1: Please indicate in your RSVP comments if you can drive if necessary.

Note 2: We will be carpooling so Please remember to contribute for Gas to your driver.

  • Sturdy Hiking boot (no sandals, no street shoes)
  • Dress in layers (no cotton, no jeans): fleece, windbreaker/waterproof jacket.
  • Food ans snacks
  • At least 2 L of water
  • Bear spray
  • Insect repellent.

  • Hiking poles

  • Sunscreen.
