Hike! Barrier Lookout and McConnell Ridge

Trail: Barrier Lookout

Location: Barrier Lake Day Use Area

Distance: ~15km return (4-6 hours plus travel time)

Elevation: ~600+m

Difficulty: I'm going to say mostly easy up to the prairieview lookout and the firelookout. I've never returned via McConnell Ridge before. We will be moving at a moderate pace and a good level of fitness is required to commit to the entire event.

We will meet at the Sirocco Park and Ride to sort out carpools and directions. I plan on leaving the park and ride by 8:30 AM. We will go ahead with those in attendance at that time.

Make sure you dress for the weather and are adequately prepared! Sturdy hiking boots, trekking poles, warm jacket/rain jacket and other layers, toque, etc. Please bring the snacks you desire and plenty of water to drink. Please be courteous and bring money to share in the cost of fuel for the carpool ($10 Min.) and bring a plastic bag to put your boots in after we finished.

This Meetup is weather dependent and will be cancelled if the weather is unfavourable. We will also need some drivers for the carpool.
