Tantalizing conversation your style? Interested in reading new books? Perhaps you're interested in a poetry reading, art opening, documentary film screening or play? Then you've come to the right place!

What started as a book club has grown to be so much more! The Calgary Weekend Book Pile (And So Much More!) Group brings together a broad range of people to discuss books - fiction, nonfiction, poetry, short story and more - suggested by book club members on a monthly basis. Each member will have the opportunity to choose a book for the group to read and then lead the discussion for their book. The book club meets at cozy Calgary coffee shops and other choice locations.

Between monthly book club meetings, we're open to new arts/culture/heritage events around Calgary, from WordFest and the Calgary International Film Festival, to High Performance Rodeo and Folk Fest. We want to read the book, see the film adaptation, listen to the radio play and watch the live theatre production if we can!

Reading a book about food? Let's take a cooking class! Interested in trying your hand at Shakespeare? We'll read Much Ado About Nothing and go see the Shakespeare in the Park rendition!
