Big Bear Trail Riders Ridgecrest 250 :Barstow to Ridgecrest & Back Overnight

We will meet in Barstow Saturday morning January 24, 2015 at the large dirt parking lot along the driveway into the Ramada Inn. It is located on the north side of East Main Street just west of Interstate 15. Take the Main Street Exit in Barstow and turn left, go over the freeway and turn right on the first street past the freeway and follow it back to the dirt parking lot. We will email all registrants a link to the gps tracks for the ride about 5 days prior to the ride date. There are easy and hard way trails so all skill level riders can enjoy this ride. The easy way will be approximately 125 miles and the hard way will be approximately 140 miles on Saturday. Gas and lunch will be at 90 miles in Johannesburg. Both routes will include a tour of the Rainbow Basin Scenic Area, a couple of military aircraft crash sites and ancient petroglyphs. The easy way will be sandy and rocky in some areas but not grueling like the hard way options, which will contain lots of enduro quality singletrack, steep hills, tight canyons, and ROCKS. The GPS tracks have nearly 500 points each so older GPS units that only take up to 250 points per track will be a problem.

On Saturday everybody rides track 1a to the Husky Monument and then the easy way riders ride 1ez to lunch in Johannesburg and all the way to the hotel in Ridgecrest. The hard way riders go 1a to the Husky Monument , then 1b to Johannesburg, then 1c to the hotel. On Sunday the easy way riders follow 2ez the entire ride to Barstow and the hard way riders follow 2a, 2b, and 2c to Barstow. Make sure only day 1 tracks are active and showing on Saturday and only day 2 tracks are active and showing on Sunday otherwise you will get lost because day 1 and 2 the tracks overlap.

We will be staying at the Clarion Inn in Ridgecrest on Saturday night. Please call the Clarion Inn at (760) 446-7910 to reserve your room. Be sure to use the Group Code of BBTR15 to receive the club room rate of $69.00 for double occupancy with 2 queen beds or a single king bed and includes breakfast on Sunday Morning. The club will provide lunch on the trail Saturday and Sunday and a banquet dinner on Saturday night at the Clarion Inn. The club will also transport one small bag per rider to the hotel and back to Barstow. We will gas in Johannasburg on Highway 395 so you will need to be able to go 90 miles before the gas stop on Saturday. This is a dualsport only ride and your bike will need to be street legal, have a spark arrester and don't forget your motorcycle rated drivers license and proof of insurance.
