There are quite a few 'peak lists' in California and we like to climb them.
Please evaluate the proposed hike/climb to be within your capabilities. As many/most of these hikes will be new to all attending, everyone should have studied the route, copied topo maps, have your GPS loaded with waypoints, and be prepared to 'help' with route finding on the difficult ones (hey this stuff is actually fun).
The primary lists are (formed by the Sierra Club):
- Hundred Peaks Section
- Lower Peaks Section
- Desert Peaks Section
- Sierra Peaks Section
We welcome your input on proposed trips. Let us know if you are interested in becoming an assistant organizer. If you carpool, be sure and give the driver ample gas money.
And of course...disclaimer:
You are responsible for yourself on all hikes. The organizers of any/all events are not professionals and are simply putting a group together to enjoy the outdoors, and as such, assume absolutely no liability for any injuries or accidents sustained. You are alone responsible for getting yourself up to the destination and getting back to the car. By signing up for this group, you acknowledge this waiver of liability and further acknowledge that it applies to each and every outing. Further, you must be 18 or older to join this group and participate in any outings.
By joining our group, you acquiesce to this disclaimer.
Greetings and Salutations!
