San Gabes Scramble - 6+ HPS Peaks

Details
Join us for a full day of peakbagging as we scramble our way through the San Gabriels, with a target of 6 - 8 peaks. This is a trip primarily designed for peakbaggers who like to summit peaks from the HPS list, and so our goal today will be quantity rather than quality. We will be traveling fast and light as most routes are extremely short.
Starting on the western end of the range, we'll slowly work our way east. Targets for the day include "brutal" Barley Flats (5,600+') - clocking in at a half mile round trip with 100' gain, "monstrous" Mount Mooney (5,840+') - a full mile round trip with 250' gain, and "krazy" Kratka Ridge (7,515'), a torturous two full miles round trip.
Our itinerary looks like this:
Barley Flats (5,600+') - .5 miles round trip / 100' gain
Mount Sally (5,408') - 1.5 miles round trip / 400' gain
Vetter Mountain (5,908') - 1.25 miles round trip / 300' gain
Mount Mooney (5,840+') - 1 mile round trip / 250' gain
Kratka Ridge (7,515') - 2 miles round trip/ 965' gain
Mount Akawie (7,283') 1 .25 miles round trip / 400' gain
optional (if time / conditions permit)
Winston Peak (7,502') & Winston Ridge (7003') - 5 miles round trip / 1000' gain
If we hit all eight peaks for the day, expect approximately 13 miles of hiking, with nearly 3,500' gain.
DISCLAIMER: We will be carpooling to speed up travel time and save parking space. If you sign up for this event, be advised you are signing up for the ENTIRE event. Do not plan to leave "early" since you will riding with someone else.
Please bring appropriate layers, food, water, good hiking boots for some scrambly parts, and a sense of adventure. Final trip details will be sent out the week prior.
