In this talk we will look at how the server team at Gamesys Social is using F# to build games that are played by around 1 million players each day.
With a small team of 7 developers who are responsible for building and maintaining all the server-side game logic and infrastructure for our games, productivity is key and F# has been key in maintaining our productivity.
We'll look at a number of use cases from our production codebase where F# really shines, including:
• domain modelling and expressing game logic
• building scalable stateful server architecture
• building internal & external DSLs to simplify working with AWS
• genetic algorithms for calculating character stats
• tooling and automation
