Tessel at Cambridge Hackspace

This week Technical Machine will be bringing a handful of Tessel for you to play with.  Bring your Javascript skillz and get ready to tinker with some fun hardware.

Not only are they bringing Wifi connected hardware, they're also providing food!

If you don't know about Tessel or Javascript then come along and see what all the fuss is about.

Further details on the event here

https://www.cambridgehackspace.com/wiki/technical-machine-and-cambridge-hackspace-are-jointly-hosting-a-hackathon

------------------------------------------

We're a community of tinkerers that want to find more time to make things, who want a place to be creative, and who want to be part of a community.

Weekly meetings are very laid back, people bring their own projects, ideas, and beer.

Sometimes we'll have a themed night, with 3D printing or Arduino, but mostly we'll just sit around and work on building stuff.

Come along with your projects/ideas and join in.

What we will provide:

Electronics, Arduinos, basic tools, soldering iron, 3D printer, plus access to other crafty things (needles, fiber fill, felt).

What you'll have to bring:

- Bring your projects, materials and inspiration (a laptop is useful too).

Thanks to everyone who came, we had a lot of fun, and Technical Machine got to see how real users might interact with the Tessel.

They have given us a 10% off code if you wanted to purchase a Tessel on their site, valid until the 1st May - it's 'cambridge-hackspace'.

    See you all next week!

Great event... thanks for organizing Richard and Anna. I really enjoyed meeting the Tessel Team, and had fun getting two Tessel projects (climate and servo) working thanks to the great support from Tessel. Look forward to seeing everyone at future events.

Tessel is pretty cool, easy way to write apps for integrated appliances. (It'd be cooler if I could do it in Lua though!)

I will be there a little later, maybe 7:30 ish. Will this be OK? I am going to try and catch some the the brightcove node on the road event, since I'm just next door, then head over to Cambridge.

I am on a waitlist now, can I still come or is space limited?

Remember to bring your laptops tonight.

If you can't make it later then please update your RSVP so members in the waiting list can attend!

I have a whole bunch of cool electronic stuff to donate to the hackerspace, including 3 laptops from around[masked] with cracked screens, an old Axim palm computer, and various other things and cables. (Monetary donations accepted, too if anyone can help - I held on to this stuff for a LONG time hoping to give it to a group like this) Can anyone give me a lift over there on the day of this event? Please contact me in a message.
