Try Clojure

  • July 10, 2014 · 7:00 PM

An interactive tutorial for beginners. Jim and I will be delivering this tutorial at /dev/summer, and we'd like to do a dry-run with the user group to iron out any glitches before the big day.

Come along to learn some Clojure or, if you're already an expert, to help us refine the material.

As usual, we'll meet from 7pm for a 7.30pm start and adjourn to a nearby pub around 9pm.

We'll be meeting in Metail's new office in central Cambridge. You'll find the entrance between Maplin and Sainsbury's on St Andrew's Street - buzz for entry and make your way up to the 3rd floor.

A big thank you to you all for your input on Thursday evening, your feedback really helped us to improve the content for /dev/summer. Special thanks to those of you who sent pull requests on Github, this made it so easy to integrate your suggestions.

I think the tutorial was well received at the conference today; we'll have a better idea when we get the feedback from the organizers. I'm also talking to Raynes about merging this new content into tryclj.com, it will be great if we can share this with the wider community.

This looks pretty cool; any special dev environment we need to set up?

The tutorial itself is web-based, so no need to install anything to work through the tutorial. If you'd like to help *write* the tutorial, you'll need git and Leiningen <http://leiningen.org/...;. There will be help on hand on the evening if you have trouble installing this.
