Café Synthetique is the monthly meetup for the Cambridge synthetic biology community with informal talks, discussion and pub snacks.

This month we're providing a space to discuss your ideas for the SynBio Fund! Up to nine grants of £5000 are available to support the production of innovative and openly shared outputs for synthetic biology by interdisciplinary teams. A highly diverse range of projects are eligible from parts collections, genetic tools, hardware, software, outreach materials, educational resources, policy papers and more. Sign up at the start of the evening to pitch your idea and find collaborators.

Apply Now >>> (https://www.synbio.cam.ac.uk/synbiofund/synbio-fund-info)

Also consider joining us for our official launch right before Cafe Synthetique at The Pitt Building, Trumpington Street, 16:00 - 17:30 (RSVP (https://www.meetup.com/Cambridge-Synthetic-Biology-Meetup/events/225874587/)).

We'll also hear about the OpenPlant Fund supported project Docubricks: better documentation for open hardware and also work in the Department of Engineering on how the reproducible form of the gut looping is governed by simple mechanics of the growing tissues during embryogenesis.

Cafe Synthetique Programme:

"SynBio Fund Pitches"

You!

"DocuBricks: a fun documentation standard to share your open source hardware project"

Tobey Wenzel (Cavendish Laboratory)

"Morphogenesis of the gut looping"

Thierry Savin (Department of Engineering)

Followed by discussion and the usual pub snacks!
