We'll be delving into making open source and low-cost technologies for wildlife and conservation this month at Science Makers - including building our own bat detectors and venturing into the wilds to test them out (at least as far as the banks of the Cam).
12:30 - Presentations and demos
• Tony Naggs on bat detection
• Mayke de Freitas Santos on drones for multispectral imaging
• Arik Kershenbaum on building (and maintaining) animal acoustic monitoring devices
- more TBC
13:30 - Pizza (£4 suggested donation)
14:30 - Making!
We’ll be soldering and building bat detector boards
(extra soldering irons welcome if you have one you can bring!), or you can work on your own project if you prefer.
17:30 - Bat detecting and to the pub (sunset is at 19:30)
