Join other adult boardgamers (ages 18 and up) in the Winston-Salem area to play a new breed of board games! Instead of frantically clicking a mouse, why not roll some dice, place a tile, or draw a card - and enjoy some face-to-face interaction! It isn't about whether you win or lose (at least not entirely). It's about having a great evening, trying to win some of the time, and always playing better the next time!
The types of games we play are a refreshing change of pace from regular mass-market boardgames (we don't play Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Risk, party games, etc). We might play a Eurogame (Agricola, Tigris and Euphrates, Settlers of Catan, Puerto Rico, Stone Age, etc) or we might decide to be really adventurous and start a longer dice-rolling boardgame that is more akin to an RPG (Arkham Horror, Runebound, or A Touch of Evil anyone?) If you haven't heard of any of these games, don't worry! We have competent instructors who will have you playing in no time. And just for clarity, we don't play miniatures games, role-playing games, or CCG's.
The group is currently meeting on alternating Thursdays but we will also play one Saturday each month to take on some of the longer games... or just to play anything, really... To learn more about who we are and the types of games we play, click on the Learn More About This Meetup Group link below.

Please note that this event is not an official Camel City Gamers event, but I decided to add it to our calendar because I thought it would be of interest to many of our members. MACE is a local gaming convention that takes place a few times a year. They do charge admission, but they have a lot to offer. It is cheaper if you pre-register than if you pay at the door.
