New Meetup: Mt Tom Hike /Lunch

Announcing a new Meetup for The Boston Expat Canadian Meetup Group!

What: Mt Tom Hike /Lunch

When: September 5,[masked]:30 AM

Mt Tom State Reservation
125 Reservation Rd.,
Holyoke, MA 01040

After the feedback there seems to be enough interest to warrant an event posting. As I mentioned in the email we Canucks need to get back to our natural habitat! Surely the Boston Canucks aren't all urbanites! Yikes.

If you are in town and are looking for some fresh air and exercise, the hike will be on Saturday, Sept 5 (long weekend) in central Mass on the main ridge trail at Mt Tom, just north of Mt Holyoke.

This hike is about 4 miles long, moderately difficult. Will require good hiking boots, and a day pack (mainly for water). If you're new to hiking and are in decent shape, the hiking boots are important to prevent ankle/foot injury.

The hike will likely take 2.5-3 hrs. (Max elevation is 1200 ft). Good views of the Berkshires, and Mt Holyoke range. Nice area.

We will be done probably a little after noon, so that will be perfect for heading to artsy Northampton to mess around in all the shops, and grab a bite to eat.

We should be back before 5 I suspect.

My car has 3 spaces and I live really close to the Alewife T stop for any that want to jump on board. Would need other rides if more people. If there are more than a handful, hopefully we'll have a few more cars.

I'll send out an email later in the week to those interested with things to bring.

If you RSVP 'yes' please try to attend or do not indicate 'Yes'. Andrew and I have noticed a lot of no shows from people indicating yes in recent events which is not fair to organizers.

Hope to see you out there!
