There are various microcontrollers that can be taught tricks using Javascript, some using wires some not.

Let's compare a Tessel (http://tessel.io ) with a pinocc.io ( https://pinocc.io/) and have some raspi too. We will see how they speak Node to make a robot think or potentially make you toast.
