The New River Gorge Bridge in Fayette County, WV is 876 ft high, the second highest single arch bridge in the US. Once a year, on the third Saturday in October, it is open to pedestrians, skydivers, bungee jumpers, and rapellers for 6 hours only. Many jumpers travel from across the United States and Europe just to exit from this bridge. A spectacular event to say the least, but there is more.....
On Sunday, the day after Bridge Day, we will be Whitewater Rafting the Upper Gauley or the Lower New Rivers (your choice). The Upper Gauley trip is about 14 miles with 50+ rapids ranging from Class I to V+. The Lower New is easier, with 24 rapids, class I to IV, in 12 miles, and more quiet water in between rapids.
We will be camping (civilized) out Friday and Saturday nights (You provide tent). For those who have no love for sleeping outdoors, cabins and platform tents are available in limited supply at an additional charge. A pig roast will be provided on Saturday evening, buffet breakfast on Sunday, lunch on the river. Transportation will be by carpool from Northern Virginia.

Is jumping off the bridge an option?
And can you elaborate on the prissy camping options?
