SCWDC Weekend Trip To Elk Mountain

Elk Mountain, Pennsylvania’s first commercial ski area (established 1959), was recently voted the state’s best, in terms of snow, grooming, value, and weather. 27 sprawling slopes and trails provide challenging and diverse terrain, more suitable for Intermediate/Advanced skiers.
Its advertising states, “It’s like skiing in Vermont – without the drive.” It has 27 slopes and trails offering challenging and diverse terrain suitable for all levels, including groomed trails and night skiing.
This is a ‘return trip’ since we went last year after several years of not going. This year we will ski both days at Elk Mountain. Driving time from the Washington DC area: about 5 hours.
Trip includes:
2-day lift ticket at Elk Mountain.
Accommodations for 2 nights at Oliveri’s Crystal Lake Hotel, featuring free wireless Internet, flat screen TV with cable and deluxe daily continental breakfast.
Dinner Friday evening at the Hotel (this may change to another night, or a dinner certificate for during your stay)
Apres Ski Saturday afternoon on the Mountain (may move back to the hotel)

Hi Carrie, Michaela, Ann Marie...
Have you ladies established your travel plans for tomorrow? I am a last minute add on to the trip & wanted to carpool with other women..I could ride along & helo pay for gas (I have gear), or I could drive & could take one person with gear in my car and another without gear. If I drive, I would also like to meet up/leave DC by 2:30pm...thoughts? I would go with or take a guy too, just not alone, want at least another girl with me.

Ann Marie and Michaela: I was going to go with my friend Laurie and her boyfriend Brian (not Brian camp).. but if you both need a ride, I am willing to all of us drive together and share gas in my car as long as you guys can leave by say 2-Pm or so (3 at latest) to avoid the Friday rush hour going to Frederick and all those places. Refunds offered if:
- the Meetup is cancelled
Additional notes: A $25 dollar fee plus unrecoverable costs will be applied to persons who cancel.
Payments you make go to the organizer, not to Meetup. You must make refund requests to the organizer.
