Seven Springs Mountain Resort (map)
Recent update: We have secured a group discount for this event!!! Lift tickets $48, Ski Rental $23, Snowboard Rental $35. I will be collecting Ca$h in Kilroy's parking lot if you want the discount. Tickets will be ready at the time we get there. Weather forecast for that day is low 23* high 36*.
Yes, Seven Springs is a bit farther away than Liberty or Whitetail but the conditions there are so much better. It is higher up and farther north than those "other" places and therefore colder. It also has more amenities for your non skiing friends which you may drag along. This is a large group going and some of us are spending the weekend, but most people are just going for the day. Currently this is a "no-frills" trip but we are working on a group discount.
Leaving at 0500 am from Kilroy's Restaurant (Braddock Rd & 495 beltway) by c.arpool
Skiing 0900-1700, happy hour at the Foggy Goggle 1700-1800, head back at 1800, probably eat dinner 3/4 way back in Hagerstown or Frederick, Md. Get back to Kilroy's about 11PM.
I called 7 springs. They said the group rate for 20 people is $50 each and one free ticket. I'm in College park MD, and dont want to drive to springfield at 4am. Does this mean i need to change my rsvp?
On website it says group lift tix $48, ski rental $23. I hope we have 20 ppl.
Anybody interested in going skiing at Seven Springs, PA (www.7springs.com) on Friday (Feb 3) instead? Bottom price $81 (plus rentals or lessons if needed) ... Pickups at NRL DC, Springfield, Urbana. NRL Snow Searchers Ski club needs 10 more folks for the trip to go (due to the bus cost) ... If interested, send message to mgdbgj at gmail.com before NOON tomorrow (2/1/12)!
Anyone interested in leaving a little later from DC as opposed to meeting in Springfield? Can we still get the group discount this way? If so, I can change my RSVP to Yes.
Can we get the discount if we drive separately? I am staying over on Friday. Even if I weren't, I live about 45 minutes from the meeting place (love living in the north!).
You do not have to leave from Springfield at 5am. The purpose of this is to get there before 9am and get a decent parking place. It is a 3+ hour trip. If you want a discount you must put $48 in my hand before I finalize the ticket purchase at about 0900 at 7S There are many people involved and this seems the best arrangement for most. 7 Springs WILL NOT ALLOW individual discounts, but I will work with anyone who wants to get the money to me in advance if they can't make the planned meeting.
SkiGuy, what is the best way to get the money to you in advance since I live on the West side of Dulles Airport. I rather go West than East then back to West... :)
Does anybody know if there is all day parking at Kilroy's?
I want to go there or somewhere fun for the long 3 day weekend next weekend. Is anyone interested? Carrie
I would love to go. I need a carpool for two people. Is anybody leaving from DC or around?I could join in a point very early if you tell me. Thank fro answering me. Alicia
Like Carrie I would be up for a long weekend trip over the holiday assuming we could still find rooms somewhere.
For those NOT going with the main group and still wanting a discount I will be in front of GROUP TICKETING at the resort atabout 0900am. I have a Red/white/blue jacket, the same one as in my profile picture.-Greg
I need a ride from DC to Springfield to meet the carpoolers. I have gear, but would be happy to meet you anywhere in the DC area (that I can get to in the early morning). I'll also pay for gas.
I can drive and have room for 1 or 2 people. Coming from Dulles.
I will leave directly from DC at 5 AM to meet at the ticket counter by 9AM. I have plenty of room in my SUV if those in DC need a ride. Cell: 202.487.3108
SkiGuy, sorry for the delayed response, but I'll see you at the ticket counter before 9 a.m. please let me know exactly which ticket counter to meet you at...
If anyone needs a ride from the Dulles airport area I have room for one. Send me a text and I'll let you know where to meet me around 4:30 a.m.
Craig, if you did not gery anyone to ride with you yet perhaps you can ride with us our we can ride with you, there is two in my party..
The trip yesterday was certain eventful, and the whiteout conditions certainly were challenging. But that is all part of the fun of skiing (I guess). It was great meeting and talking with all of you. I hope to do it again.
I spoke to many of you about a bus company that goes to Snowshoe Ski Resort every Saturday and Sunday from Fairfax and from DC for $69 round trip. The internet URL for the company is www.nacski.com/dc
I'm taking the NAC Ski bus to Snowshoe on Sunday, February 19. Sign up at nacski.com/dc.
I am taking the NAC Ski bus to Snowshoe, too on Sunday 2/19! Hope you see you guys there!!!
Chris, if you are leaving out of Fairfax on the NAC bus, the pick up spot is the Vienna Metro south side. So, if you are going north on 66 (66 E), get off at exit 62 (Nutley Street), first exit off of exit 62, and STAY to your right. As you come around the bend and the Vienna Metro entrance is several hundred yards in front of you, park in the first parking lot (open, not covered, parking lot) and the bus will pull into the next open parking lot called the kiss and ride lot. Enjoy!
