Explore Soledad Mountain - Three levels
Details
While many of our members are enjoying the San Diego Century, the rest of us will head off to Soledad Mountain in La Jolla. Our ride leader Michell has cooked up some interesting routes ascending, descending, and traversing Soledad Mountain, with a route level for everyone.
The general plan is to meet at the Torrey Pines Glider Port, then head over to La Jolla where we begin the routes on and around the mountain. As a general guide, the mountain is steepest on the north/northwest slopes, and as you work your way around the west side to the south, the grades get friendlier - with the easiest being Soledad Mountain Road on the south side.
The plan for the A group is to take in about four full ascents, including two on the steep side; the B group will enjoy many partial ascents that include a few steeper challenges, but will do a full ascent near the southwest side; and the C group will traverse a lot of the roads on the lower part of the mountain with a full ascent on the more gentle Soledad Mountain Road. If you've never been up there, the view is stunning and not to be missed!!

NOTES: Please bring an extra tube, CO2 cartridge or hand pump, and enough fluid and snacks (suggestion: two bottles minimum for the longer rides, and two snacks). Helmets are always required, and we obey all traffic laws.
Our rides are no drop, and we make every effort to find the right group for you.
