CARING FOR COMMUNITY CATS (program of Rose Concierge, Inc.)
Our dream is to create a community of like-minded, heart-centered and solution-oriented people coming together for the love of our feline friends.
We are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit (EIN #47-094-4245). There are no fees to attend meetups, though donations are greatly appreciated! Members are asked to share their expertise, experience, passion, ideas and resources as we develop relationships with local rescue groups and shelters with the goal of creating a thriving TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program that ends the killing of healthy community or feral cats.
TNR STRATEGY:
Save tax-payer dollars by allowing Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) of un-owned, free roaming cats when cats are being managed by a caregiver.
RESULT:
Reduce shelter cat intake and euthanasia.
Best Friends Animal Society presented a TNR Boot Camp in Palm Springs, which my husband and I attended. As a result, I made a connection with Shelly Kotter, the Best Friend Specialist for the National Cat Initiative. She has 11 years experience with TNR programs throughout the country. Shelly has agreed to provide guidance, support, and resources to help us create a successful program in Southwest Riverside County.
VARIOUS WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:
Trapper--using humane traps

Ranchers/farmers-with barns suitable for relocated community cats who cannot safely remain in their colony.
DVM-local veterinary professionals who are willing to work with community cats providing spay/neuter services.
Rescue groups-to socialize and facilitate fostering/adoption of kittens and lost or abandoned pets suitable for indoor living.
JOIN US!
While it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a community to stop the killing of homeless cats and dogs at our local shelters. There are solutions and we are committed to adding our piece to the puzzle in helping to create a world where there are no more homeless pets and no more unnecessary euthanasia at our local shelters.
