For those interested in Jung's Analytical Psychology and Freud's Psychoanalysis including Dreams Analysis. Dreams Analysis is central to Depth Psychology which combines Freudian Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analytical Psychology.
Freud opened the way with his 1900 classic The Interpretation of Dreams. Jung followed with his dreams analysis approach in which he emphasized the importance of analyzing dreams in a series instead of analyzing one dream at a time.
In his 1932 seminar (and his book by the same title) The Psychology Of Kundalini Yoga, Jung made a giant step further by envisioning his approach to dreams analysis as a spiritual practice comparable to a Kundalini Yoga of Self Realization or what Jung called Individuation.
Yoga is a spiritual practice that uses the body as a path to Self Realization. So, Jung wanted to formulate a Western Yoga that uses the mind (dreams analysis) as a path to Self Realization( Individuation). Jung, however, died in 1961 without consolidating his dreams methodology into a viable (systematic) spiritual practice that would actually lead to Individuation.
Generation of Jungian Analysts after Jung talked about Individuation but were unable to actually achieve it for themselves nor for their clients.
16 years ego, when I embarked on a systematic (daily) analysis of my own series of dreams , I was mindful of Jung's vision of making dreams analysis a Yoga of Individuation and kept it as my goal. I also kept Jung's vision as the goal of my dreams analysis practice by engaging in systematic analysis of the dreams of successive waves of clients/study cases.
Details of my clinical research on dreams and how I turned dreams analysis into a Yoga of Individuation for myself and others will be posted on my two upcoming websites (the website for my Jungian foundation The Seven Gates to Love and the website for The C. J. Jung Education Center of Montreal). I will keep you posted when the two websites are up and running.
As a moderator, I am mindful of those who consider themselves beginners when it comes to dreams, Depth Psychology and spiritual practices including Yoga. I am out to encourage and support beginners by introducing them to the various topics gradually and comprehensively. Trust me I am good at simplifying complicated concepts to all.
For those who have some knowledge of dreams, Depth Psychology and spiritual practices including Yoga, I want to welcome you as well. And I may add be prepared to learn more and to update your knowledge.
For all of us, the ultimate question is What is this all about? and the ultimate answer is: Viable self knowledge, viable healing, and Self Realization.
Our motto (with an accent on humor) is Spiritual Shoppers and spiritual seekers be aware! This is the real deal.
Sincerely,
