From: Bob R.
Sent on: Friday, June 15, 2012 3:20 PM

Hi Cascadians,

Dan Shaffer, who is a librarian at the Redmond library, has sent me information regarding this contest, which I've included below. This might be a fun project and you could win $100!

Bob Roby

Dan Shaffer sent you this message from Cascadia Photography Group on Meetup:

"Let me introduce myself. I’m Dan Shaffer and I am a librarian at the Redmond Library, Redmond WA. I would like to invite all the photographers in your group to participate in our Then and Now Photo Contest. The City of Redmond is celebrating its centennial year as a city all during 2012. The Redmond Library is joining in the celebration by sponsoring several programs. We think you and your members will be interested in participating in our contest. Please read the press release below and follow the links for more information. Please also forward this email (if appropriate) to your members.

I am happy to hear any comments you might have.

Thank you for your time.

The Redmond Library invites you to travel through time in our Then and Now Photo Contest!

To celebrate Redmond’s Centennial the Redmond Library along with its partners are sponsoring
a Then & Now Photo Contest! To get started follow these steps: - Choose a historical photo from our display at the Redmond Library or from our Facebook
page: - Take your best ‘Now’ photograph. - Submit your photo in electronic format by email to [address removed] or in person at
the Redmond Library. Photo captions must accompany all submissions, along with your name,
email address and telephone number. Captions should include the subject of the image,
the location the image was taken, and the name and age of the photographer(s). Photographers can try to recreate the scene from the historical photograph as accurately
as possible or use your creative sense to capture the scene from the historical photograph
in a pleasing artful way. Awards will be given in a Youth and Adult Category. Submit your photos by August 15, 2012. Winners will be announced September 15. See the
complete rules at:
or by inquiring at the Information Desk of the Redmond Library Sponsored by The Friends of the Redmond Library" -- Dan Shaffer
