Fellow Data Geeks,

As many of you know, Cassandra is the preferred back-end for Titan, and Titan is the preferred graph database for Cassandra deployments.

On Monday, 4/1, Matthias Bröcheler, lead developer for the Titan Graph Database project and CTO of Aurelius., will be in Chicago offering a full day hands-on workshop on graph databases and Titan.

This is the first class ever offered on the Titan Graph Database. It has sold out both in Santa Clara and NYC. Because of his schedule, Matthias only teaches this class a few times a year. This is the first time the class has been offered in Chicago.

There is no one who knows more about Titan than Matthias.

About Titan:

For those of you unfamiliar, Titan is a scalable graph database optimized for storing and querying graphs containing hundreds of billions of vertices and edges distributed across a multi-machine cluster. Titan is a transactional database that can support thousands of concurrent users executing complex graph traversals.

In addition, Titan provides the following features: Elastic and linear scalability for a growing data and user base, data distribution and replication for performance and fault tolerance, multi-datacenter high availability and hot backups, and support for ACID and eventual consistency.

Instructor Bio:

Matthias Broecheler @MBroecheler, a core member of the Aurelius team, has researched large scale graph database systems for more than 5 years. Matthias is best known as lead developer of the Titan distributed graph database. His award-winning work includes high performance index structures and query answering algorithms for graph structured data. Matthias also developed the Probabilistic Similarity Logic (PSL) machine learning framework to analyze and reason about multi-relational data. Matthias holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.
