For this meetup, we are excited to be joined by Al Tobey Partner Architect at DataStax who will be discussing tuning and troubleshooting with Apache Cassandra.

What You'll Learn At This Meetup:

Learn the tips & tricks Al uses to troubleshoot operational issues with Apache Cassandra. Once the troubleshooting is done, some tuning is usually in order. Al will go over the easiest wins in tuning including garbage collection, storage maintenance, and how to verify with Cassandra-stress included with Cassandra 2.1 and beyond.

About Al Tobey:

Al Tobey is a Partner Architect at Datastax focused on infrastructure and performance validation. During his 15-years in IT, he has worked on all parts of the Linux stack, from building hardware to single-page HTML5 applications. Before joining Datastax, Al acted as a lead engineer on numerous projects at companies such as H&R Block, Priority Health, Sony Online Entertainment, Limelight Networks, Cisco Systems, and Ooyala. When he’s not busy pushing IOPS through Apache Cassandra, he likes to play games with his son, play jazz on the trombone, and study 日本語.
