Painting Party At Catylator Makerspace

After a summer of intensive work Catylator Makerspace is taking shape and getting ready to launch. We signed a lease for our 3000 sqft space in July, and started work preparing the space at the beginning of August, there has been lots to do, but it is starting to look like a Makerspace at last.

To get to launch day, we need your help!

We are having a preview open day on Saturday, September 5th, starting at 10am. Bring your old clothes, and a roller, a tray and/or a paint brush for trim work if you have them. We'll provide the naps and a tray liner.

If you have ever wondered what the chalk paint craze is all about? You can come learn how to do that too as we have tons of furniture that has been donated , reclaimed and re-purposed, and now needs to be redecorated to fit into the space. The chalk painting demo and hands-on participation will start at noon on the 5th.

Tool donations will also be appreciated! If you have any under-utilized tools that are in good condition, we can probably make good use of them, and any we don't use can go towards our social benefit programs.

We will also do an open house on September 12th, and of course will be having a big presence at the Silver Spring Maker Faire on September 20th, so there will be lots of opportunities to get engaged with the magic of creativity at Catylator Makerspace.
