Arepas at Bogota In Park Slope

Arepas at Bogota In Park Slope

Details

Hi all. Looking forward to tonight! Just want to provide a few last minute details:

Menu:

If you haven't already, perhaps take a look at the menu?http://BogotaBistro.com/resources/BogotaMenu_Dec2010.pdf

All items on the arepa menu are gluten-free except: the hogao and mushroom sauces. (Bogota is known for its aji sauce, a great option if you're a cilantro fan.) If you aren't fond of pork or sausage, the manager let me know that they can prepare sides of chicken, tofu, or portobello mushroom as well.

There are a few non-arepa gf options: bandeja paisa, grilled trout (sans coconut rice), portobello chimichurri, quinoa cakes, vegetarian tacos, and rotisserie chicken.

Seating: VERY IMPORTANT!

We have reservations at 7pm for two tables. They only seat complete parties. I spoke with one of the owners this a.m. and he will seat the first 9 people to arrive at one table; the second table will be seated when everyone else has arrived. They will hold our tables until 7:20, at which point whoever is there will be seated and we will lose any unfilled seats. It's a popular, busy spot (even on Mondays!), so I'd get there on time! If you need to cancel - even at the last minute - please change your RSVP on here, so we know not to expect you. Thank you!

Payment:

Since separate checks for so large a party would be hard for them to manage, they'll ring up checks for every four people along the tables. Would be great to bring cash - and small bills!

Directions:

Hopstop and Googlemaps can explain better than I can, but of note: There is construction at the intersection, so the sign for St. John's Place is usually not in view - AND St. John's Place changes into Douglass St. at 5th avenue. In fact, many of the street names are different on either side of 5th avenue. Confusing? Yes, so I'd suggest taking a reeeeally good look at that map!

I think that's all. Let me know if you have any questions between now and dinner. See you then!
