Expectant/Parents of 0-9 months Meetup: Baby Whispering

Jen Vendetti, MSW (UCONN Nurturing Families) will lead the discussion; she has had lots of practice with her own babies and those of the families she helps through Nurturing Families!

Why is s/he crying? Babies have a "go-to" way of communicating that DEMANDS attention, yet it is sometimes hard to figure out what kind of attention is needed. We will discuss reading baby's cues to prevent crying, ways to soothe baby after s/he is worked up, when "handing off" is a good idea, and how to soothe ourselves as well! We'll talk about and practice using movement and soothing sounds while enjoying our babies.

Join in the discussion of how to soothe when our brain reacts to our baby's cries and insists there is an emergency!

This meetup is free & open to the whole community of expectant/new parents of less than 9 month old babies.

Bring the babies. . . the room is comfy for little ones and crying, nursing, feeding, changing diapers happens as needed:)
