Headless Pi: Raspberry Pi Connectivity Workshop

  • August 3, 2013 · 10:00 AM

CFRPUG will be meeting Saturday morning August 3rd,  to demonstrate how to use your Raspberry Pi headless using ssh and VNC. In other words, you'll be connecting to your RP remote from your laptop without the need for an extra monitor and mouse.

To participate you'll need your Raspbbery Pi and a laptop to connect from.

Even Better, there will be a Raspberry Pi bake-off at noon followed by a Special guest visitor to FamiLAB from the Raspberry Pi foundation.

PLEASE RSVP to FamiLAB if you intend to stay for the Afternoon event here:

We hooked up an RP to wireless, used ssh and vnc to connect to that from a MacBook Pro using vnc viewer, and then vnc'ed to the MBP with an iPod using doceri. Some attendees used their mobile phones to vnc t the Raspberry Pi as well. We also had a very good discussion regarding the Raspberry Pi in the education arena.

Most of the members stayed through for the following Raspberry Jam and Presentation from Dr. Gordon Hollingsworth of the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

Dr. Hollingsworth shared a lot of information about the technology and architecture of the Raspberry Pi with FamiLAB members.

Great. I am glad for the opportunity to learn more about the raspberry pi among people who also have a keen interest.
