In preparation of Eben Upton’s visit to FamiLAB on October 5th, 2012, I decree Saturday, September 29th a Raspberry Pi building day. If you have a Raspberry Pi and a project for it you haven’t quite got off the ground, show up and build! I am hoping we could knock out as many cool projects as possible. I’d like to pool technical skills, create bullet points, and have a whole slew of projects to show off October 5th.

Be there, or be square!

It wasn't as grand as I planned in my head, but good building, and good discussion. I didn't get what I wanted done, but instead finally used a RS232 module I've had, and will put it to use.

Ted is an awesome host! He made sure everyone had plenty of pi and mountain dew!
Lance has his Raspi controlling his Canon T4i. oh, yeah and he built a pan tilt head out of mdf on the FamiLAB cnc. He's also controlling pan/tilt servos with i2c.
Many retro game counsels are being hacked with Raspis! An iMac 2006 model was being gutted to be used as a raspi shell.

I know that you are strong in Python; mr. Diaz is a C master, while I've been heavily brushing up my C++ skills. It is my hope Ted that whatever the team RADs in Py, we can compile for performance.

Rami, this sounds like what I could only classify as an ERPST. Elite Raspberry Pi Super Team.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
