In preparation of Eben Upton’s visit to FamiLAB on October 5th, 2012, I decree Saturday, September 29th a Raspberry Pi building day. If you have a Raspberry Pi and a project for it you haven’t quite got off the ground, show up and build! I am hoping we could knock out as many cool projects as possible. I’d like to pool technical skills, create bullet points, and have a whole slew of projects to show off October 5th.
The Raspberry Pi is a new microcomputer platform that provides a new universe for creativity. It’s inexpensive. It’s designed for kids. It’s great for learning, it’s even better for fun, and anyone can use it. If you’d like to be a part of the Raspberry Pi community in Central Florida, The Central Florida Raspberry Pi Users group is the place to be! Using the Raspberry Pi is fairly simple to use. However, the “RPi” also brings many challenges as it can be used with a variety of operating systems, software applications, and peripheral hardware. For this and many yet to be discovered reasons, it is essential that we build a community to share resources, ideas and solutions.
Who should Join?
Anyone interested in learning more about the Raspberry pi should join this group! This includes but is not limited to kids, parents, teachers, artists, engineers, crafters, inventors, programmers, and do it yourselfers. And that’s just for starters.
The Central Florida Raspberry Pi Users Group’s mission includes creating, and maintaining an active user and developer community for the Raspberry Pi platform in the Central Florida area.
Meetups for the Raspberry Pi are called Raspberry Jams. We have been meeting at different venues in order to cover more territory. Be sure to check out our next Raspberry Jam!
