Stand Up for Darwin is fun fundraising evening of comedy and song dedicated to the great man Charles Darwin to celebrate his Birthday.

It is a Pan-London Humanists Groups Event in association with Conway Hall.

A host of great comedians many with a background in science will be entertaining you with laughter and logic, or perhaps the lack of it.

Doors at 7.00 p.m. Comedy from 7.30 p.m. finishing around 10.00 p.m.

Entry is pay what you can we suggest a minimum of one Darwin, (or £10 as some people know it), more if you can afford it or less if you really cannot.

PLEASE register your intention to attend on this Meetup site, and simply pay on the door.

All money raised from the evening will go to a campaign to promote science and Darwin's work and to oppose the promotion of Creationism as an alternative 'theory' to Evolution, especially in schools.

The CLHG Wine Bar will provide drinks and nibbles, throughout the evening.

Robin Ince is a stand-up comedian, actor and writer best known for presenting the BBC radio show The Infinite Monkey Cage with Brian Cox.

Kate Smurthwaite.

Kate is widely recognised as the star of the gone-viral Internet video "Atheist Bitchslap" and is the resident MC at London's Soho Comedy Club. She is well known for her annual political one woman "The News At Kate" shows at the Edinburgh fringe and over 2000 shows at other well known comedy venues.

Helen Arney is a comedian, geek songstress and physics graduate. In 2012 she won Best Comedy Performance at the Buxton Fringe with her solo show "Voice of an Angle"which also gained 4 & 5 star reviews at Edinburgh. She also tours with the science comedy phenomenon Festival of the Spoken Nerd.

Iszi lawrence is a comedian, illustrator and artist. She is the voice of the Skeptics Guide to the Universe and has her own weekly podcast Sundays Supplement which she co-hosts with TV writer Simon Dunn. She is an international speaker on skepticism and atheism.

Dean Burnett Dean Burnett is a doctor of neuroscience who teaches psychiatry at Cardiff University. He has been performing stand-up for nearly a decade, and writes the popular science-comedy blog "Brain Flapping" for the Guardian website. He is also Welsh, but doesn't mention this much.

Rosie Wilby has featured on Radio 4 Midweek, Loose Ends and Woman’s Hour and performed her award winning stand up show The Science Of Sex to sellout crowds at Cambridge and Manchester Science Festivals and Green Man festival’s Einstein Area.

Gemma Arrowsmith is a comedian, actor and worrier. She is also a godless skeptic science cheerleader and Nerdfinder.

Taylor Glenn is a former psychotherapist and now an award winning American comedian writer and actress based in the UK.

Luke Meredith is best known as cabaret artist Mister Meredith, a musical comedy act with rousing singalongs. A finalist of New Act of the Year 2012, his "Christmas Crack" received 5 star reviews in Edinburgh last year. He is currently aiming for the charts with his new single "How to Write a Pop Ballad".
