Details for tomorrows events (rune classes 2 PM, ritual between 4 and 4:30 PM).

I am sending this to everyone instead of sending individual emails to each of the three events tomorrow.  If you are not signed up for the events and do not plan on coming please feel free to disregard this message. If you are in both meetup groups, you may get this twice anyways, and I apologize in advance.

There are three separate events being held tomorrow.  At 2 PM there will be the first class of a year long rune study intensive for adults.  At the same time (2 PM) there will be a class for children of various ages held in another location of the same home.  4 PM will mark the end of both classes and a Disir Rite will be held shortly thereafter (by 4:30).  The rite will last less than 30 minutes and will allow children and adults to participate.  After all, this festival was historically to ask for blessing of the seeds and crops and bring a good harvest.  It was a celebration of the light, a celebration of all the female powers (from goddesses to land spirits as well as ancestral).  Our children are the seeds of humanities future.

If you have any seeds you wish to bring and have blessed, please do so.  Please consider what you wish to manifest this year and what your own personal harvest should be.

Here are some details of the three individual events...

Adult rune class.  Please bring the Diana Paxson book "Taking up the Runes".  If you can, please read the beginning as well as the first two runes (Fehu and Uruz).  Each month we will study four runes... but only two in this first month.  If you have a rune set, please bring them...  Also, please bring something to record your thoughts... journal, laptop, whatever you wish.  The cost for each adult class is $10.

Children's rune class.  They will make runes out of salt dough, so please bring a flat plate to bring two runes home with you.  There is no charge for this class... parents each contribute towards making this happen, so your time, love and support in the future is all we ask.  If you wish to contribute a few dollars towards supplies and help support the group and website, we really appreciate it.

Disir Rite.  Again, please bring seeds, seedlings, etc. The children's class is preparing an offering of seed covered corn for the rite.  After the rite, we invite you each to take some of the corn home and hang it as an offering to the spirits near your home.  Please please mark your attendance properly so we have a good idea of head count and can estimate how much of everything we will need.

After the rite...

We will not have a pot luck as we normally do... this time.  Instead how about all of us go to Chevys for an early dinner.  No worries if you want to leave right after the ritual... I just want a place for the community to gather and talk for a bit, and thought on a cold day where people are swamping the grocery stores we may want to defer to a very close by restaurant (about 1/2 mile away max).

Please stay warm and safe, and see you tomorrow.

House is easy to find... there is a big "Hump" sign in front of it!
