COhPy Monthly Meeting

We'll have a short presentation on web development for Python that's new-Pythonista friendly.

After that, we're moving on to lighting talks. If you are coming to the meeting, please have a 5 minute presentation to give on something interesting, but newcomer friendly.

After that, it's hack night. Work on what you want, and get help from your neighbor.

I will bring the slide deck from the talk I just gave at PyCon Ireland, and adapt the three or four most important slides into a lighting talk to fit tonight's format!

Anyone interested in seeing Python development on Visual Studio, Monday Night?

    October 25, 2013

    • Brian C.

Absolutely. Most Python devs use text editors, everything from vim to sublime. The few I know using IDEs are using python-centric ones like Wingware or PyCharm. Be interesting to see what VS brings to the table.

I would be very interested in seeing python development in visual studio. I just recently installed the tools, haven't played with them yet.

I found out about these meetings while attending the python for girls thing today and yesterday with a friend. I'm excited to be able to see how others use python and show how I use it. I am currently the only python person at Nationwide Childrens Hospital.
I just want to point out, Catherine did an amazing job with the intro to python thing this weekend, I have been using python for 5 years and she showed me short cuts that I hadn't seen before.
