Updates, Friday games, etc.

Hi gang,

Here's some information for you in Q&A format:

When's the next First Friday?
Friday night. There's still room for you.

Is there childcare?
Unfortunately, no. There's no childcare this time. My own children won't be there as the game room is for adults (and very mature, near-adults). The next First Friday with childcare is in November. Post in the forums if you are looking to share babysitters off-site somewhere. I know this affects some of our favorite gamers ability to attend. It's out of my control; I'm not in charge of when childcare is offered at our facility.

So are First Fridays back?
Sort of. I've scheduled monthly meetups when I could make them and there's already events in the calendar for September, October, and November. October is on the second Friday so there's no childcare then. I'm traveling more now and I'm not as available for Friday night gaming. Did you miss First Fridays? Hope you had a great Summer.

Should we bring snacks? Yes, feel free to bring snacks to share. The meeting is at a church so no alcohol. There is a vending machine downstairs for sodas and water.

What if we want to game more than that?
It is a meet-up. Feel free to meet up and invite people for games. Sten has stepped up to host Epic Games regularly as a Saturday event. Anita hosts word games once a month when she can. Great Hall in Austin still has games every Friday night.

How late can we play?
We need to start wrapping things up by 9:30. This means you should arrive at 6:30 for our start.

Why is Georgetown so far away?
It is where it is. I've looked for other places to host and so far I have not found well-lit, inexpensive places with lots of tables.

Can we bring out favorite games?
Please do. The only thing I ask is that, due to limited space, you don't bring the sprawling games that take several tables to play. Most of those games take too long for our meeting anyway.

Thanks for your time and your continued interest,
John Gravitt
