Missiquoi Wildlife Refuge Area

Launch: 11:30 a.m. from Louie's Landing on Rte 78
Return: 5:00 p.m.
12-14 mile route down the Missisquoi River into Missisquoi Bay, then up the Dead Creek, back into the river and finish the last few miles with the current.
Should be nice, calm waters. Winds from the S at 5 mph will make it a very protected trip. The refuge is closed to hunting because of the Government shutdown, but there may be some hunters in the bay. They shouldn't pose any danger to us.
This trip is open to all kayaks, 10 ft or longer. Must wear your PFD.
Bring a lunch, lots of water, and cameras

Picture perfect day on the lake. Foliage was a bit past peak and not much wildlife except shore birds, one eagle and lots of fish in the clear water. Louie's Landing was closed and roped off due to the Federal Shutdown. Launched from Sandy Pt F&W.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
