Game Day Potluck

This will be a Potluck style game day. Please post in your comment what you plan on bringing so we can try to balance. We will provide our normal selection of drinks. We will start out taking some time to eat then start playing once people start finishing up.

After about 1-2 hours we will put away perishable food to avoid wasting as much food as we have in the past. You will be welcome to help yourself to the food in the fridge and reheat once it's put away. If you could bring a lid for your item or Tupperware, that would be helpful, otherwise we will have some.

Along with our board games we will also have an outdoor bags game setup. Possibly do a teams tournament if there is interest.

If you have any other ideas or suggestions please let us know.

We have two friendly dogs.

I have made up a potluck sign up sheet based on 30 people (the RSVP cap).  I will update the list below as comments change. Also if you know what you are thinking of bringing please include that to avoid too many duplicates. I will fill in the last slot once everyone is signed up.

Sooo....much like Nick...I'm a terrible cook. I'll likely be bring something from the grocery store that falls into the appetizer or dessert category (whatever we need as the date approaches). If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

OK, looks like 1 Desert spot and 2 appetizers, so I'm probably going to go with a veggie platter...contact me before noon tomorrow if you want me to bring something else.

Nick and I will be bringing main dishes.
    - Nick's bringing some of my pies (because he's a terrible cook and you really don't want to eat his food!). Let me know if you have a preference out of the following: BBQ Pork, Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken & Mushrooms, Lentil Curry, Pepperoni Pizza, Spinach & Feta, or Thai Chicken.
    - I'll bring a crock pot of Chicken Fricassee or chicken slow braised in a smoky bacon sauce, depending on how much bacon I have on hand in the kitchen. <-- Both of these are great with some rosemary garlic mashed potatoes if someone feels inspired as a side dish!

I love Chicken Pot Pie but all of those sound really good also!

      September 13, 2013

  • Richard

I can bring dessert (since that is the only empty one on the list). Pineapple upside down cake cool with everyone? I can do brownies also or can always do both I guess. haha

    September 13, 2013

  • Mike W.

My wife really wants to make one of these, so I hope this is a great time to bring her. We can bring a sandwich platter if that works. Let me know!

    August 24, 2013

    • Dorothy

A sandwich platter will be great. We do ask that each person brings something so that there is enough to go around though, so separate dishes for your wife and yourself.

      August 25, 2013

    • Mike W.

Sounds good. Dip/crackers for her, platter for me

      August 30, 2013

  • carlos

Probably going to roast some corn on the cob for a side.

    August 24, 2013

  • Michelle

I will bring a side dish: pasta salad. Not sure what Tim will bring. Will post that closer to the date.
