Let's get together for some snowshoeing via the Three Rivers Park District. Don't worry if you've never done it - it's easy and they will teach you how!

We will go on a guided snowshoe hike at French Regional Park from 1-2:30pm, then grab some hot chocolate, coffee, or an afternoon snack. The Park District provides the equipment. Cost is $5.

You will need to register on the Three Rivers Park District site at

Please register with the Park District before RSVPing to the Meetup.
Spots in this event will depend on whether there is room in the Park District event. Please note that this event will be cancelled or rescheduled if there isn't enough snow on Jan 6th :)

Hi all, I'm sorry to not be joining in on the fun. I've never been snowshoeing and I'm envisioning myself falling, which is never good when you're 28 weeks pregnant. Have fun!! I hope we can do this next year when I can participate. :)

Hi everyone - it sounds like there were some questions about this event. To be clear - we are participating in a public event held by the park district, which allows those of us who are new to snowshoeing (or challenged to navigate the snowy woods) to get some instruction and also have a guide. The event is a women's event, but it is open to the general public, and not just the Chapter Chicks.

I checked with the park district, and unfortunately, those who are not registered are not allowed to join the hike, even if they have their own equipment. If there's a lot of interest, we could definitely do another event where we either get a private guide for our group, or a Chapter Chick leads.
I'm really excited to enjoy the afternoon with our group, get some fresh air, and get pumped for the Season 3 premiere of "Downtown Abbey", which is that night!!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
