Charleston Veggie Meetup Message Board › Weekend Trip To Asheville
Mount Pleasant, SC
I'm trying to figure out when some people would be interested in taking a weekend trip to Asheville. We can go late summer/early fall so that whoever wants to go has time to plan ahead. Below are some suggested dates, but I'm open to suggestions. I've also posted an itinerary.
8/30 - 9/1 (labor day)
8/16 - 8/17
9/20 - 9/21
Let's go to Asheville for the weekend to see all the flowers in bloom, hike, and eat awesome vegan food. We will stay at this really cool and affordable hostel for $28 a night. I'm not sure how much a private room is for anyone who prefers that. I think we should make hostel reservations a week in advance. Also, if you would like, feel free to stay somewhere else

I have made a trip Schedule below, but I'm open to ideas and suggestions. I did not plan too many activities so that there would be room for whatever everyone else wants to do.
6:00am- We will leave Charleston. I'd like to carpool if possible. I don't know a good location to leave cars over the weekend, so I'm open to suggestions. My current idea is that people who wish to drive can pick people up in their area directly from their apartments. The drive is about 4 hours, so bring snacks. We can stop for food if necessary
10:00 amWe will arrive at the hostel and check in. Afterwards, we can explore down town.
11:00 AM - Graveyard Fields Hike. This is a beautiful, 4 mile hike with 2 waterfalls. I
1: 00 PM - Lunch at Rosetta's Kitchen
6:30 PM - Dinner at Plant
10:00 AM - Hike Rough Ridge/check out of hostel We will hike to a boardwalk which is protecting "protects fragile vegetation"
1:00 PM - Brunch at Laughing seed
4:00 PM - leave for Charleston

Hi Molly! I may be able to go 8/16. That sounds like a nice time to escape the weather. I may be moving in August though, so I'm a 'maybe' right now. Don't base the dates on me.
