August CHUG: Risk Intelligence in Hadoop byArun Choudhury (Tresata)

Arunabha Choudhury from Tresata's data engineering team will be presenting on Risk Intelligence using ORION.

Discussion Summary:

We have built an intelligent risk reclassification system using ORION. ORION supports a built in graph Query language called QUE that has been designed for mining very large graphs. The nodes in the graph represent different companies and the edges represent the payment flow between these companies. Each company has a risk associated with it along with other properties. These risks have been assigned by risk analyst who specialize in market risk evaluation. Our goal is to look at this graph and identify risk of an entity based on the network flow. We then compare these network based risk reclassification with the given market risk and come to a conclusion that, many of these entities that appear to have a low market risk rating may in reality have a higher risk.
