Laid Back Sunday Social Paddle Little Seneca Lake

Little Seneca Lake

Laid Back

Sunday Social Paddle

This Laid Back Sunday Social Paddle will find us on the water at 10:30 AM on Little Seneca Lake for a very laid back, easy going social paddle without any particular agenda.  We will launch from the boat ramp inside the park on Black Hills Road.  Please plan to arrive in plenty of time to have your boat and gear ready to launch by 10:30 AM.  Renters need arrive by 10:00 am to get familiar with your boat and gear, so you are ready to launch at 10:30 am.

Little Seneca Lake is owned by the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). There is a $5.00 fee to paddle there that is on a honor system and is payable in a lock box at the put in.

We plan on being out at least a couple hours but we can decide how long to stay out based on everyone's availability.  Make sure to pack a lunch or snack, we will be stopping for a break.  Feel free to bring treats to share during this break.

There are a limited number of rental kayaks available for this paddle at a special weekend social price of $45.00 including paddle and PFD.  Please fill out the rental question when you RSVP to request one.  The first few renters will get priority with RSVPs.

The paddle was great because the group members are great. Wind and rain aside it was a fun day for my maiden voyage in my new kayak. Thanks Chuck for waiting for me at the end and leading me home the back way.
Thanks to all of you who thought we should just turn the Smart car over with the boat still attached and sail the car. It is fun to be unique. See ya' all soon .

It was a pretty nice paddle. The winds tried to play with us a little but we managed to hide from them most of the time by staying close to shore. The lunch/snack stop was great especially thanks to Matt's backpacking grill. We started getting a light sprinkle during the last half hour of the paddle that managed to turn into a drizzle while loading but it was still a great day. Thanks for coming everyone.

Sorry - didn't even realize I was singed up until I got the reminder. Last week I started my new job and I work Sundays :-(.

FYI, I think this is the location where Hudson Trail will have their Demo Day on May 11th (bunch of folks from Washington Kayak Club and DC Standup Paddle meetup are going: opportunity to demo LOTS of kayaks and SUPs for free). Great place to try new stuff (very calm).
