A PFD (Personal Floatation Device) is required for all of our paddles. Do you have your own PFD or have acces to one?

Please tell us a little about your previous kayaking experience. It's okay if you don't have a lot of experience.

Started kayaking in 2013. Kayaked some larger lakes like Lake Raystown and Lake Nockamixon PA and regularly do Wednesday paddle at Nockamixon with a meetup group run by LL Bean from Center Valley PA. Have done some river Kayaking on minor rapids in Delaware river. Recently completed the inner trails of Jane Island State park during small craft advisories and 20 mph winds. Have had 4 kayaking courses from LL Bean Discovery school thru their Intermediate Recreation kayaking class and Rolling class and 3 classes from Rick Weibush in "Intensive Intermediate Skills", "Living on the Edge", and "Dealing with Winds & Currents" - but still need more practice to successfully do a roll. Looking forward to try rivers with Class I & II and also more challenging open water with small waves 1-3 feet

What kind or type of kayak(s) do you own? If you'll be renting or borrowing from a friend that's okay too. We also have rental kayaks for members to use.

Prijon Seayak 16, Wilderness Systems Zephyr 16, Pyranha Fusion 10, and a Prijon Cyclone 10

Why do you kayak? Some people paddle to relax and get away from it all outdoors, others to stay fit. The real crazies paddle just for the joy and fun of it. What's your reason?

Many reasons : Enjoyment of nature and wildlife; Exercise and improvement of my fitness, coordination and balancing skills; challenge of adventure to become more aware of myself and improve myself.

What do you hope to get out of joining this group? Some people want to improve their paddling skills others just want to socialize with fellow paddlers. Is there anything special you're looking for?

Looking for new places to explore and see since we are from up north near Philadelphia. Take advantage of warmer conditions than more northern kayaking in the fall and spring. Always interested in socializing and meeting new people.

Hi. My wife, Marie, & I started kayaking in 2013. Previously, we backpacked in New Hampshire & elsewhere: Sierras, Yellowstone, Hawaii...; Ballroom danced in competition; Bred & trained champion Rottweilers for show & obedience; Skied & enjoy nature
