A PFD (Personal Floatation Device) is required for all of our paddles. Do you have your own PFD or have acces to one?

Please tell us a little about your previous kayaking experience. It's okay if you don't have a lot of experience.

I have four summers of experience kayaking at least once a week on the Magothy River, putting in off a community pier near Cape St. Claire. I enjoy one to two-foot waves in my Ocean Frenzy kayak but got nervous when a storm blew up and waves got whitecaps! I always enjoy paddles in Anne Arundel County and around Kent Island and the Eastern shore.

What kind or type of kayak(s) do you own? If you'll be renting or borrowing from a friend that's okay too. We also have rental kayaks for members to use.

Ocean Frenzy

Why do you kayak? Some people paddle to relax and get away from it all outdoors, others to stay fit. The real crazies paddle just for the joy and fun of it. What's your reason?

The water and waves and ospreys, sometimes I paddle like mad and other times I just ride the waves.

What do you hope to get out of joining this group? Some people want to improve their paddling skills others just want to socialize with fellow paddlers. Is there anything special you're looking for?

Friendship and fun.

Hi, I'm a Magothy River kayaker who LOVES 1-2 foot rolling waves and will happily play in choppy water. I own an Ocean Frenzy kayak. My fear of sharks keeps me paddling on rivers and, sometimes, into the Bay!
