Speaker Cancel - Networking event instead this evening

Update: MapR has had to cancel due to a client engagement, they will not be able to attend and present this evening. We apologize for the last minute notice, we were just informed of this and are sharing it in like. We'll still have the meetup as planned - for anyone who still wants to come out and network, we'll be there, but there will be no formal presentation this evening.

Hold the date for the March Chicago Big Data Analytics Networking and Presentation event. Thanks to all who joined us and presented at the Open Mic night on February 10th, great turn out and really excellent presentations from all of the participants. Many of the decks are now posted on the event link, and video of the event is forthcoming and will be posted asap.

MapR - Mike Emerick - Midwest Sales Architect, MapR will speak on 'Spark, Shark and Polyglot'

Abstract: Spark has recently exited the Apache incubator and has found its way in to many big data projects. Thanks in part to it's ability to speed Hive queries. This is only part of Spark's story. We will take a look at Spark it's toothed friend Shark and round on in to additional design patterns for the in memory, MPP.
