Our next topic for the group will be former atheist philosopher Antony Flew’s book- There is a God: How the World's Most Notorious Atheist Changed His Mind. To be fair we will also look at a different opinion by author Christopher Hitchens. We will wrestle with his ideas as we explore his book- god is not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. Email the group administrative assistant Kevin for copies of the books.
We would like the group to model a philosophical/metaphysical Washington Square, Speakers Corner, La Rive Gauche, Athens or Mars Hill style dialectical discussion. If you are looking for some radical, fresh or cutting edge ideas- hopefully this is the place, maybe you have some too.
Please join us at philosophical/spiritual and social activities. The most fun part is discussing and listening to people's perspectives over coffee.
The group is for people who are exploring various religions, philosophies and spiritualities, for Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, Agnostics… It is for those who are turned off by organized religion and is led by two Christians. We meet to discuss spiritual topics about twice a month. It is meant to be a safe place to ask difficult questions and a consensus of opinion is not necessarily a good thing. Check your blind faith at the door, reason reigns here. We also go to restaurants every one or two months.
This group doesn't have any additional upcoming Meetups scheduled.
