I believe education is the most powerful tool there is in the world. By surrounding oneself with others who share similar values and views on our how to make the world a more "green" place, and just sharing knowledge, we can then share this knowledge with even more people. I've found that by just continuing to talk to my friends and family about sustainability and green living that a seed is planted.
I've been a Vegetarian for almost 11 years. I educate myself a little more each year on how to live a life that is not harmful to the planet. I'm working on a MFA in Interior Design with a focus in sustainability. My thesis is about post-petroleum design. I'm interested in renewable energy, waste management, harvesting water, recycled interiors, how to design with less waste and utilizing waste in design. I don't believe that our lives need to be so consumption driven, which contributes to depletion and pollution of our vital resources.
I'm an Artist, a painter, a tree-hugger, a vegetarian, an environmental lover, a sister, a friend, a teacher, a daughter, an addict of creativity, and an aspiring Sustainable Interior Designer.
